The FiberOpticCable is a complex edge (linear) network feature that represents a complete fiber optic cable. For instance, a single FiberOpticCable edge feature will define the location and path of a single fiber optic cable between two locations. All of the objects that represent the internal components of the FiberOpticCable will be related to this single feature. If one of the network junction feature classes (SplicePoint, PatchLocation, DevicePoint, TransitionPoint or SpliceLocation) is added to the middle of a FiberOpticCable feature, the feature will be split and all of the fiber connections will be preserved correctly. The actions that result from such a split will be dependant upon the type of junction feature. The actions will be described in more detail for each junction feature. |
